Percentile testing is allowed one time for a percentage of credit hours in Bible courses. Students are asked to submit a complete ministry and secular resume to be considered in their evaluation. Each applicant is an individual, and each situation must be evaluated on an individual basis.
Graduate Degree Program Offered
The following Graduate Degrees are offered: Biblical Studies, Biblical Counseling, Pastoral Studies,
Religious Education, Christian Education, Ministry, Christian Counseling, Missiology, and Theology.
Divinity degrees are usually given in an honorary setting. An emphasis or major would be required in an area that the student pursues, such as Teaching, Research, Missions, Leadership, Counseling, Administration, or Evangelism.
Graduate Program Examples
To enter the Graduate Program (Maters and Doctorate) of Mercy University, the student has to be active in ministry and have a Bachelor Degree. If the Bachelor’s Degree is not of a religious nature, the student must take 12 pre-requisite Bible courses before entering the Graduate Program.
Each program at the Graduate level is tailored for each student. If the student did not take the Percentile
Testing at the Undergraduate level, it can be done at the Graduate level. The student may receive from 9-15
credits from the testing. With the student being active in ministry, they may receive 9-15 credits of
Practicum. The testing and Practicum credits will not be applied until the student has completed the required
course work. A Program Completion with Research and Study must be completed as part of any postgraduate degree. Most School Sites require a one year course in both Hebrew and Greek.
The Master and Doctorate programs each require a total of 60 credit hours.
An example of a program lay-out would consist of courses at the 500 level and be:
Master of Theology:
12 credits given from testing (if applicable-Percentile Testing)*
12 credits given for Practicum
1 course in Practical Application x 3 credit hours = 3 credits
1 course in Bible Language x 3 credit hours = 3 credits
1 course in Missions or Evangelism – x 3 credit hours = 3 credits
2 courses in Counseling or Leadership – 2 x 3 credit hours = 6 credits
1 course in Bible – x 3 credit hours = 3 credits
Thesis (50 pages minimum) on an area of Theology – 4 credits
Program Completion Research and Study

degree.
*If Percentile Testing has been completed at Undergraduate level no testing credits can be given at
Graduate level. Credits must then be taken in coursework.

2 courses in Missions – 2 courses x 3 credit hours = 6 credits
2 courses in Theology – 2 courses x 3 credit hours = 6 credits
