I saw a multitude from every nation, tribe, people and language, wearing white robes and holding palm branches in their hands.
Who Are We?
We are the Bailey’s, three generations as missionaries since 1952 in Brazil, we have a heart and passion to see the Gospel of Jesus reach the ends of the earth
Our purpose?
Since Roger and Ellen took up the Challenge and still rings today,
“To reach the tribes that have never heard and to give it your all.”
What we do/did?
For many years we have been involved in many tasks such as education, literacy, social justice, health care, and economic development and continue to do so
Our inspiration?
We are inspired by the life of Jesus and His teachings, that He would leave everything behind and come to earth to bring a message of healing, hope and joy
We believe?
We believe that everyone should have a chance to hear the message in their own language and be given an opportunity to hear
Our hope?
We strive to see the Indians as carriers of this message, the Third Wave, to be able to be able to be fully Indigenous and Followers of the Jesus (Acts 9:2)
Where are they?
There are many tribal groups all across North and South America, from the dense jungles, to the dry arid desert, to the high mountains and along the low rolling sea coast
In the dense Jungles
Some have never been in contact with others beyond their world, only speaking their native dialect and living a life roaming their homelands
To being surrounded by cities
Those that are cornered are struggling to adapt and reconcile the changes and differences, unable to live like they use to with the abundance of the land that once offered them
Should we do something?
The world is divided as to how we should approach the last uncontacted tribes weather we should leave them alone or make contact
Should we do nothing?
Many have been hurt and damaged by wrong policies and forced removal, many have been wrongly treated
What we can do...
We can’t change the wrong that has been done but we can stop and recognize acknowledge and listen, we are led by Him to bring a message of pointing all of humanity in the right direction
The Plan?
We are limited to trying to accomplish such a daunting task, alone we are unable to do it, the world will keep expanding and the struggle for survival is ongoing
How can we do it?
We have given our lives and been able to witness a local church birth and take over by local leaders, no longer with us living there
Third Wave
The First Missionary Wave are foreigners, the Second Missionary Wave are the nationals and the Third Missionary Wave are the Indigenous, it is time that we learn to trust and watch them grow
What can we do?
“God’s work done in God’s way will never be deterred from His plans”
We are not owners of the teachings and message of Jesus but responsible to steward and teach His Word
Passing on the batton
We know what it’s like when you have come to the end of your mission or purpose and the batton is given to the next person to carry on, it’s hard, it’s tough when you all of a sudden realize you are no longer needed
The ways of the wind
As Jesus said, The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”
Three Generations
As Three Generations growing up and living and being in the ministry you soon realize you can’t do what the previous has done, each one has a specific calling and task
Being who Creator called you to be
Each of us carry the skills and talents necessary to fulfill our purpose but we must be allowed to grow and learn from our errors under the supervision of our elders until we are entrusted to carry on alone
Whats next?
We seek friendship and a relationship to those who want to journey in seeing the Third Wave to be able to be the ones to reach their own people in a way that they are able to understand
Next Events
From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands.
